As I sat in church yesterday, I had a short conversation with God during the middle of praise and worship and declared to Him that "I'm In". My thoughts regarding those two little words are related to spiritual matters and runs pretty deep. I won't get into that here. If you want to know more about the spiritual side of it, ask me and I'll explain in more detail on a private basis.
But as I thought on those words and that commitment this morning, I realized that it could be related to everything I do, especially as it relates to my career.
"I'm In".
Those words convey the fact that I'm completely sold out to do whatever is necessary to accomplish my goals, tasks, etc. There's no turning back. All avenues of retreat have been destroyed. As it relates to my business, there is no "alternative" whether it succeeds or fails. There's no "fall back plan" or "bail out" available. I'm completely sold - lock, stock and barrel into what I am doing and will do whatever it takes (being morally and ethically responsible of course) to make this business a success.
I'll get up earlier - work later - spend more time learning new things, new technologies, new ways of doing things. I'll be a wise steward of my time and cut out the excess - the "filler" that wastes so much precious time. Instead I'll replace those wasted hours with things that will improve me, mentally, spiritually, financially, my family and my relationships. To be a complete, well-rounded person, spirit, soul and body. Mind, will and emotions.
"I'm In".
Failure is not an option. Only driven, dedicated determination to be the very best I can be - to myself and the people that I have the privilege to share life with. I am driven to help others first. As I do so, my needs will be met. I am driven to love people unconditionally and expect only the best. To make no preconceived judgments based on appearance, but to treat others the way we wish to be treated.
I'm In.
